An Unexpected Encounter!

Happy Wednesday to you all!

So I was walking down a road in my neighborhood last week and spotted something extraordinary… you judge for yourself!

Yes – a dog driving a car!! Of course I’m kidding – the car was stationary… or was it??…okay…fine, I’ll stop.

I myself was surprised and experienced a unique feeling of humor mixed with curiosity. In fact, many other people taking walks took pictures with that dog.

Do you love dogs? I’m excited to hear about your favourite dog breed/ dog adventures!

  1. Yes it sure does look like he’s driving the car๐Ÿ˜€. I love dogs but don’t particularly have a special breed in mind but hoping to looks round for one soon.

      1. And yes I know what you meant by socialize hahah. Not verbally of course but as if subconsciously. Have you ever thought that animals may sometimes understand us? ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. I know what may interest you. I’ll try to be as brief as possible.

In the 1970s a Psychology experiment was made where a dog was placed into a room with a tv screen and nothing else. Wires and electrodes were connected to the dogs’ head to monitor brain activity.

The screen showed pictures of people with different facial expression and of different races, genders, etc. They monitored the brain signals and concluded that the dog can predict if a person has good or bad intentions/ how the person feels… the dog could even wag its tail on a person making an angry expression and whimper on another smiling. It guessed all of the intentions correctly!!! During all of this time, the dog only looked at the left side of the face.

This was interesting for psychologists and they did much research. In the 1990s they’ve concluded that the reason dogs look at the left side is because we cant manipulate emotion on it well – our left side cannot lie! Isn’t that incredible?

      3. That is fascinating! It does not surprise me though — I know that dogs can sense bad intentions (cats can too, probably many animals can!) I believe dogs predict deaths too. My cat accurately predicts when visitors are coming over — by waiting at the door where he normally never sits ๐Ÿ™‚ But I had never heard about that experiment, that is really interesting.

If people could harness everything that an animal knows, it would really give us some insight. Even just looking at normal stuff we take for granted about them… how do birds know to fly south & where to go? How do they know to shift leaders in the V shape as they fly? There are many 6th sense examples of animals! Don’t get me started, I could talk about animals all day ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I had a similar experience when I saw a car being driven by a large poodle recently. His passenger was on his left, and the car was coming around a roundabout. Then I realised it was a left hand drive car. Certainly gave me quite a turn for a moment.

Note: I live in South Africa and most cars are right hand drive here, since we drive in the left.

    1. Oh my God Chris, what an experience! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I would’ve thought the same since I’m From Canada & we drive on the left too.

South Africa is such a beautiful place! Wow. Tell me – what do you love most about it?
